Personalized Learning Days
What is a Personalized Learning Day?
On Personalized Learning Days, students take the lead in their learning by choosing their own adventure through a variety of meaningful, engaging experiences. While students explore and learn independently at home, our teachers and staff are actively engaged in professional learning—collaborating, growing, and preparing even stronger classroom experiences. It’s a win-win that supports both student independence and continuous improvement for our schools!
When are the Personalized Learning Days for the 2026-2027 school year?
- Tuesday, September 8
- Tuesday, November 3
- Tuesday, February 2
How Do Students Participate?
Students must choose at least one experience from the clickable Choice Board, to design their unique learning opportunity.

Please note that PLD choice boards will be distributed electronically only. Printed copies will no longer be sent home with students. This change helps us streamline communication and ensure that important information reaches you directly. PLD choice boards will be shared via PeachJar, Class Dojo, district social media channels, and district website.
Keep Our Parks Clean Poster Challenge
Middletown City Schools students in grades K–12 are invited to participate in the Keep Our Parks Clean Poster Challenge!
The poster challenge is featured as an activity on the September Personalized Learning Day Choice Board and is a great opportunity for students to use their creativity while showing how everyone can do their part to keep our local parks clean, welcoming and enjoyable for all.
Posters are due Friday, September 11. Finalists will be selected by Superintendent Card and a committee, with artwork displayed at the District Office and featured on the district website.
