Remembering September 11, 25 Years Later
Twenty-five years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, Middletown City Schools joins the nation in remembering and honoring the lives lost, including the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Our students may not have experienced September 11, 2001, firsthand, but its lessons of courage, service and unity remain important today. We remember those whose lives were lost, honor those who answered the call to help and reflect on the strength shown by communities across our nation.
Today also gives us an opportunity to say thank you to the first responders who serve Middletown every day. Our local police officers, firefighters, EMTs and emergency personnel are partners in our schools, familiar faces to our students and an important part of the community that surrounds and supports our Middies. We are grateful for their service and for the many ways they care for our students, staff, families and community.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
