MMS Students Help Prepare for Light Up Middletown

Last week, MMS teacher and National Junior Honor Society Adviser Lynne Calhoun took eighth-grade NJHS members to Smith Park to help prepare for Light Up Middletown!

Students spent the morning working alongside the “Grandpa Gang,” replacing light bulbs, testing strands of lights and moving displays to their outdoor locations for installation. From candy canes and trains to Santa’s workshop, there was plenty to keep our Middies busy!

“Many of our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students at Middletown Middle School have grown up attending Light Up Middletown each winter, making the opportunity to help the Grandpa Gang at Smith Park especially meaningful,” shared Ms. Calhoun. “We are proud to play a small part in keeping this special Middletown tradition alive!”

Beautiful weather, teamwork and a commitment to serving their community made for a productive morning. Thank you to our students, Ms. Calhoun and the Grandpa Gang for helping bring this holiday tradition to life!

We look forward to seeing it all light up in just a few weeks!
