Middletown City Schools Names Andrea Longworth Director of Student Services
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – The Middletown City School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Longworth as the district's next Director of Student Services. The Board approved her appointment during its June 8 meeting.
Longworth will begin her duties on August 1. She joins Middletown City Schools from Lakota Local School District, where she most recently served as Executive Director of Pupil Personnel.
Throughout her career, Longworth has overseen comprehensive student services programs supporting approximately 18,000 students, including more than 2,200 students with disabilities and 1,850 students with Section 504 plans. She has led multidisciplinary teams responsible for special education, gifted services, school counseling, health services, student wellness, behavioral supports, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
Among her accomplishments, Longworth helped Lakota earn a perfect 4.0 out of 4.0 rating on the Ohio Special Education Rating for Compliance and Achievement Results in 2025. She also expanded specialized autism programming, strengthened data-driven accountability systems, enhanced gifted education services, and provided oversight for district-wide counseling and nursing programs.

Longworth brings more than 25 years of educational experience and began her career as a special education teacher before advancing into leadership roles including Teacher on Special Assignment, Supervisor of Special Education, Executive Director of Special Education, and Executive Director of Pupil Personnel.
