Middletown City Schools Announces Strategic Leadership Changes

Middletown City School District (MCSD) is excited to announce two strategic leadership changes. Keri Hensley and Kee Edwards have each been promoted to new roles and will join MCSD’s leadership team. Hensley will move into the role of Senior Director of Curriculum, and Edwards will move into the role of Senior Director of Human Resources.

Both leadership changes were approved during the Feb. 27 Board of Education meeting.

Hensley and Edwards are no strangers to MCSD. Each has spent their entire career in education in the district.

Keri Hensley

Hensley began her career as a Third Grade Teacher at McKinley Elementary School. While at MCSD she has also served as a Teacher Leader, a Principal, and most recently as the K-5 Curriculum Coordinator. Hensley has more than 20 years of experience working with Middies.

“I am confident that Keri will bring her existing skills, knowledge, and many years of Middie experience to her new role, and will continue to excel,” Deb Houser, MCSD Superintendent said. “Ms. Hensley  has a strong understanding of team dynamics, processes, and goals, which will enable her to hit the ground running and not miss a beat,” Houser added.

Kee Edwards

Edwards, a Middletown native, has served MCSD for more than 25 years. He began his career in education as a Second Grade Teacher at Taft Elementary School, and has also worked as an Assistant Principal, a Principal, and most recently as the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

“Kee has consistently demonstrated exceptional work ethic, dedication, and a strong commitment to Middie values,” Houser said. “His knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities make him the perfect Sr. Director of HR,” Houser added.

Hensley and Edwards’ new roles are effective immediately.
