Middle School Teacher Recognized with Rising Star Award
Each year, Kingswell recognizes individuals who have impacted the greater Middletown community in positive ways. This year, 7th grade English teacher, Heather Castle was recognized with the Rising Star award!
The Kingswell Impact Gala and Awards were founded back in 2017 to recognize and acknowledge exemplary achievement efforts of people or projects that provide a positive impact and demonstrate excellence throughout the City of Middletown.
The Rising Star Award goes to someone who is impacting the community in new and innovative ways. Mrs. Castle was nominated for her work at Middletown Middle School, and her commitment to students and the Middie community.
"I think it's really important, especially for students in Middletown, to have strong role models and people to look up to, and I think I do an ok job of being that person for some of them," Castle said. "It's really rewarding when a student who's had a bad day comes to you to vent about it because then you realize you're kind of their safe space when they're struggling."
