15 Seniors Earn High School Diplomas and Associate Degrees Through Early College Academy

Graphic shows head shots of 15 students with text that reads: "These Seniors Graduated with BOTH their High School Diploma AND an Associate Degree!"

More than a dozen students from Middletown High School’s Class of 2025 graduated this spring with not only their high school diplomas but also Associate Degrees from Miami University Middletown.

These seniors—Hope Brown, Kylee Cook, Logan Cornwall, Carter Hayes, Leila Johnson, Malea King, Gwendolyn Kreate, Talan Malicote, Evelyn Mondragon-Morales, Shaylee Rogers, Matthew Russell, Mallorie Tharp, Aeriel Webb, Maureen Wilson, and Kaydence Young—completed their degrees through the Early College Academy, a unique partnership between Middletown City Schools and Miami University Regionals.

Through the statewide College Credit Plus program, students enroll in college-level courses beginning in their junior year and earn at least 15 credit hours per semester over four semesters. The program enables students to earn a college degree at no cost to families.

“Providing the opportunity to accelerate learning and career readiness through our partnership with Miami University has resulted in tremendous success for our students,” Middletown High School Principal Carmela Cotter said. “We are so excited to be advocates for the passion they have for learning and their bright futures!”

Congratulations to these remarkable students on their dedication and dual achievements!
