Dear Parents and Students:

This is an exciting time for everyone in the Wildwood school community. Our new school doors have open for first time. Students in grades Pre-school through grade five are enjoying the benefits of their new and improved school experience.

This year, Wildwood Elementary boasts a new building, new classrooms and furniture, air conditioning, new cafeteria, new gym, new media center, new music room, new art room, new reception area and new administrative offices. We are very proud of our new home and welcome you to visit anytime.

Along with the new home, we are serving breakfast is each morning to all students. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast increase their math and reading scores as well as improve their speed and memory in cognitive tests. We believe that children who eat breakfast at school--closer to class and test-taking time--perform better on tests than those who skip breakfast or eat breakfast at home. The Free School Breakfast Program is funded through federal and state funding.

If you have any questions or concerns, I hope that you will feel free to contact myself, your child's teacher or our office staff anytime. I will see you soon. Enjoy the 2008 -09 the school year!!!

Sincerely,

Jim Thomas
