Dear Parents and Supporters of Middletown High School:

Hopefully everyone had a happy and safe holiday break. As always during this time of the year I try to spend some quiet time thinking about the many things that I personally have to be thankful for. I am, as always, thankful that my family is healthy and doing well, after all is there really anything more important in life than this?
I'm also grateful that, at least for the remainder of the school year, we seem to have weathered the financial crisis that kept the district from providing transportation for our students. This was an unbelievable burden for many of our students and hopefully we will not have to deal with it in the future.
I can't leave this subject without expressing my gratitude for the efforts of many of our students, parents, staff members and concerned community members, for their efforts towards keeping the many programs going at MHS; the past few months were really a team effort in the best sense of the word. Obviously, I would have just as soon not had to deal with these problems; nevertheless, I do believe that a real sense of community became evident as we worked our way through these issues. It's this sense of community that I hope we carry with us as we move through the remainder of the school year.
Least I forget, heading into December, students and staff at MHS have already begun preparing for our upcoming semester exams as well as starting the second half of the school year with a new schedule. This will be a first for all of us but we believe that we will be ready when the second semester begins. If you or your student have any questions please don't hesitate to call and let us help you with whatever your question might be. Working together we can solve most, if not all, of the problems that may arise.
Once again, let me say thanks to everyone for your patience and support during the last few months. We really couldn't have had the excellent start of the school year that we have had without your efforts. As always, working together we will achieve our goal of making MHS the best educational experience that your student could have.
