Mission:
It is the mission of Mayfield Elementary School to work collaboratively with its students to maximize learning potential by providing learning opportunities based on the Ohio Academic Content Standards. Student progress will be monitored through a variety of ongoing assessments. Teachers will use assessment data to select appopriate interventions that reflect research-based best practices.
Vision:
We at Mayfield Elementary School envision a school in which:
The primary role of teachers is to model problem-solving to keep students actively engaged in learning while contouring our lessons to the content standards, meanwhile motivating parent/child interaction.
Students will come to school motivated to learn, be actively engaged in the learning process, and strive to master the academic content standards.
Business, families, and other stakeholders will demonstrate a value in education with pride in schools, and provide a secure and stable environment.
The climate provides a welcoming, positive, and emotionally secure learning environment.
We use assessment data to drive instruction and intervention using best practices to enrich and build vocabulary and experiences in integrated content areas.
Based on the Ohio Academic Standards, we will spiral the basic curriculum throughout the grade levels in a flexible, integrated plan to meet individual needs.
