Announcements for February 9, 2018


It is that time again, College Acceptance Time! We would like to send out a BIG Middie Congratulations to these students who have been accepted into college:

Taylor Underhill- Youngstown State University and Bowling Green

Megan Richardson- Wittenberg University and Marietta College

Kaitlynn Farno- Rose Hulman Institute of Technology

Hope Brown- Ohio State University 

All students are now entered into a drawing for prizes and a gift card from the Future Center. If you have any acceptance letters, please bring them to the Guidance office to enter into the drawing.

Auditions will begin Monday Feb.12th for the Middletown High School show choir – Sign ups are hanging on the choir room door.  Vocal auditions are Monday Feb.12th and you will choose a time that is convenient for you.  Tuesday Feb. 13th will be dance auditions.  All students auditioning will report to the choir room Tues. Feb.12th at 2:30.  A series of dance steps will be taught to you by the show choir dance captain.  Questions?  See Mrs. Minge in the choir room

Attention sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are preparing for college OR the military.  The Future Center is hosting a practice ASVAP this Saturday at 1:00 in the community room here at MHS.  It will provide you with test-taking practice for both the ACT and the military ASVAB.  Research proves that it helps to prepare you for either!  If you are interested, please see Mr. Duff in the future center.

Middletown Schools PTO Scholarship Applications are now available in the guidance office.  Information is also on our website on the guidance scholarship page.  Students must have a minimum 2.55 GPA & plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution.  Submission deadline is Feb. 28th @ 2:15 p.m.

Attention all students who are interested in playing on the girls volleyball team for the 2018-2019 season.  There will be a student interest meeting after school on February 14th at 2:30 in the wrestling room.  Information will be discussed about off season training/workouts, open gyms, tryouts, and more.  You will not want to miss this meeting, treats provided!  

The Girls Varsity Bowling team defeated Oak Hills yesterday. High bowler was Senior Crystal Kroener with games of 212 & 173! They are now 7-1 in the conference and 14-1 overall!

Boys Varsity Bowler Freshman Ethan Rowe bowled a very nice 214 & 245, while Senior Zach Maloney shot an awesome 255 game!

On JV, Sophomore Toni Mullins bowled her highest game ever of 169, and so did Senior Liam Delaney with a 240! Freshman Tyler Jurmu led all scores with a 200 & 205! Great job
