TRCs Make Big Impact on Student Engagement
It is an exciting time for technology in the classroom at Middletown City School District. Over the summer, 16 teachers voluntarily attended 40 hours of Professional Development to transform their rooms into Technology Rich Classrooms (TRC). The TRC teachers learned how to incorporate Google for Education and other online resources into their daily routines and lessons. The TRCs received a cart of 30 Chromebooks and an interactive projector to pilot a 1:1 (where there is one device per every one student) teaching approach.  Click "Read More" for the full article.

New State Tests to Replace Ohio Achievement Assessments
During the 2014-2015 school year, most Ohio students in grades 3-8 will take a new and different set of state achievement tests that are based on Ohio’s New Learning Standards. The standards and new tests both reflect higher expectations for what students should know and be able to do in math, English language arts, science and social studies. The new tests also will better measure what students have learned and what they can do with their knowledge.
