Varsity Girls Bowling Advance to Districts

The varsity girl’s bowling team bowled in the South-West District sectional tournament today at Crossgate Lanes.

The girls were great today. They were the only team out of 16 that bowled over 900 total pins for each of their 3 team games! They were the 1st place team after each game and finished the tournament in 1st place!

Olivia Harbin tied with another bowler with the highest 3 game total for the day! She had games of 181, 232, and 199 for a 612 series!

Marissa Howard finished in 6th place overall with games of 206, 160, and 200 for a 560 total!

Makayla Rinehart finished in 11th place with a 543 series.

The girl’s team advanced to the district finals next Thursday March 5th at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek!

Way to go Middies!!!  

MHS Celebrates Black History Month

Middletown High School students celebrated Black History Month with an assembly for 11th and 12th grade students. The morning program held in the auditorium was led by students Taylor Burgess, Y’Vonte Glover, Nina Stewart, Lindsey Chapman, and Kiana Hughley. During the program the Pledge of Allegiance was demonstrated, the Negro National Anthem was sung, a history of Carter G. Woodson (creator of Black History Month) was read, a dramatic poetry reading was also read, and diversity was shown.

Central Students Help Write Songs for "Tales of the Sea"
Spencer Funk and Pam Temple of the Cincinnati-based, award-winning duo Wild Carrot recently spent time at Central Academy writing songs with the fifth and sixth grade students about the sea. The three songs they wrote together will be among the featured pieces at Central Academy s Intermediate Program, titled Tales of the Sea, which is set for Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.

Andrew to compete in the Ohio High School State Championship meet
Congratulations to Senior Mark Andrew who finished third in the 200 Individual Medley and 12th in the 500 freestyle at the Southwest Ohio District Swim Meet held at Miami University in Oxford February 22.  Both of his swims qualified him to compete in the Ohio High School State Championship meet next weekend at C.T. Branin Natatorium at Canton McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio.  Twenty-four swimmers throughout the state qualify for the State Meet in each event.  Preliminaries are this Friday at 9:00 am with 16 swimmers advancing to finals on Saturday evening at 4:00 pm.  Online results can be found at www.swimmeet.com Go Middies! 
Testing Window Extension Spring 2015

Ohio Department of Education is providing an extension to the Performance Based Assessment (PBA) test window due to the weather. MCSD will begin testing on Tuesday, February 24, and follow the original test schedule—delayed one week. The new test window will be February 24-March 23.
