Welcome to Highview Sixth Grade Center. Our hope is to create and maintain a positive school climate where every student is challenged, supported, and successful. The sixth grade is a special transition experience between elementary and secondary school.
Highview Sixth Grade Center serves approximately 500 students. All students will be enrolled in Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Academic Support classes. The Academic Support class provides an opportunity for your child to receive enrichment and/or intervention support services from a classroom teacher. All students will also have an opportunity to participate in one Encore class each day. The Encore classes offered to 6th graders will include Band, Orchestra, Choir, General Music, Art, and Physical Education.
Our staff is proud to be Ready to Teach every day. This means they take a few moments before our students arrive to make sure they are ready to be a good role model, are prepared, and know their purpose.
All Highview 6th graders will learn what it means to be Ready to Learn when they come to school each day. Students who are Ready to Learn:
- Display Middie PRIDE
- Dress for Success
- Carry a Good Book
The Highview staff welcomes the opportunity to work together with parents and guardians to provide meaningful learning experiences for our students. Please plan to participate in parent/teacher conference opportunities at least twice during the school year. There are several other events and activities that we would love to have your help with: Parent PRIDE Club, Family Movie Nights, Book Fairs, Fundraisers, etc. Let us know how you can help!
